Je vindt hier een van de spectaculairste wijnlandschappen ter wereld met terraswijngaarden op steile graniethellingen. 's Zomers is het er brandend heet, 's winters ijskoud. De Dourovallei werd al in 1756 afgebakend en is daarmee het oudste gereglementeerde herkomstgebied ter wereld.
