Inmiddels wordt daar ook een goede kwaliteit wijn van gemaakt, waaronder enkele DOC's. De bekendste en meest voorkomende is de Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Wat weinigen weten is dat Abruzzo, na Veneto, de grootste producent is van wijn.
